Life By Water.com was formed in 2004 by two friends, Craig Rivett and Scott Reinders. It was started to promote kayaking in South Africa, through documentation of their travels and the provision of information on the sport, reviews on products and tips on technique.  Life By Water took on a hands on approach despite Craig and Scott being full time students in a land Locked town.

Life By Water.com has grown considerably from 2004 to 2008 with a significant increase in South African and international support. Recently Life By Water.com added the aspect of importation, distribution and retail of high quality products, which are aimed at making kayaking and other outdoor sports safer and more enjoyable. Currently Life By Water.com is involved in the importation of WRSI (White Water and Research and safety Institute) helmets and gear to South Africa as well as the distribution of H20 Audio Products.

Above all, Life By Water is proud to be associated with a number of South African companies. We are pleased to be involved in Product Research and development (R & D) for a number of South African companies. Some of these companies include: Fluid Kayaks, Max Paddle and GOYA Gear.

In window of its national and international success it was fitting that in 2008 Life By Water announced the formation of its Australian counterpart, www.lifebywater.com.au. Life By Water Australia has added the new dynamic of promoting Kayaking in Australia and New Zealand through the reporting on local news, events and the exploits of some of Australia’s top kayakers.

The end of 2008 saw the highly successful joint expedition of team paddlers from Life By Water South Africa and Australia. The expedition explored a number of river systems in Laos, South East Asia and provided an insight into the circumstances of one of the world’s most remote regions. This expedition has been documented in popular media around the globe and has received international acclaim.

The vision of Life By Water is to promote watersport accessibility, usability and safety at a national and international level and to provide a portal for a number of athletes to document their exploits  in an effort to further promote them as paddlers and as professionals.
